To support the continued growth of packaging design and logistics business Ecopac, the Buckinghamshire based enterprise has added a further 30,000 sq ft of storage, production and packing space by acquiring the lease of an additional building at the Westcott site.
Building H1, which sits opposite the main Ecopac building has quite a history. Originally used as a munitions store at the end of the second world war, the building has since been used as a bullion store and as well as a luxury car garage for the Harrods empire. Now under the control of Ecopac the building will be used for the company’s growing contract packing operations as well as housing Ecopac’s bubble wrap converting machines.
MD Doug Sparkes explained, “despite moving into our current premises at Westcott only 30 months ago, the growth that the business has experienced has already left us tight for capacity. The availability of H1 building is proving an ideal solution as it enables us to separate the contract packing, production, waste management and internet fulfilment areas of our business from the general packaging warehousing.”
