Described by MD Doug Sparkes as a major step in the development of the business, Ecopac has entered into a strategic partnership with Chinese manufacturing group Winsun.

With headquarters in Ningboin the east of China, Winsun has metal, wood and plastic processing plants as well as a cooperating network of over thirty other manufacturing factories across China.

Winsun will provide a sourcing option for Ecopac for products including; adhesive tapes, stretch wrap films, decorative paper bags, litho-laminated corrugated, ropes and twines, plastic garment hangers, polythene bags and furniture covers.

Ecopac realised the need to establish a presence in China following repeated price increase demands from UK based manufacturers and set about looking for a partner towards the end of 2010.  Following visits to over thirty factories owned by more than twenty different businesses, Ecopac selected Winsun as their partner as they were impressed by the management and quality of the organisation.  Commercial manager John Bennett stated “The team at Winsun demonstrated a real desire to do business with us.  From our first meeting they responded positively to our requests and their products are of excellent quality.  We now have a dedicated sourcing team within the Winsun business and anything that we need that they don’t manufacture they will source on our behalf and provide quality management and testing for us.”
